The ABL follows AEB and USA Broomball non-contact broomball rules.  There are a few rules the ABL has adopted to fit the needs of our league.

 

Basic:

18 minute stop time halfs. 3 minute warm-ups.  

Running time in the second half if the goal differential is 4 or more.

1 Timeout per team.

 

Overtime:

3v3 with Goalies   

5 minute stop time sudden death.

O Timeouts.

Game ENDS in tie after 5 minute period.

Goalie CANNOT be pulled or cross the redline.

 

Regular Season Scoring Structure:

Regulation Win     3pts
Overtime Win       2pts
Overtime Loss      1pt

Overtime Tie        1pt

Subs: (Regular Season)

Teams are allowed to pick up as many subs as needed to fill their roster to a TOTAL of 10 players.

Goalies are excempt. 

The previous rule of 3 sub max has been suspended due to the pandemic. 

Subs: (Playoffs)

No SUBS are allowed. No Exceptions

Penalties and Suspensions:

Any major penalty or suspension in an ABL will impact a players' eligibility in AEB or USA Broomball tournaments.
